duo526 Sonata Seminar is a performance intensive exploring the art of listening and duo collaboration. Established in 2018, Sonata Seminar has been held at Brandon University and Indiana University. Kerry DuWors and Futaba Niekawa lead the resident duos through mentoring, coaching, masterclasses, workshops, and performances.

The last Sonata Seminar was held May 17-25, 2024 at Brandon University with special guest mentor, Dr. Jean Barr, Professor Emeritus from the Eastman School of Music.

SS24 featured violinists and pianists from Canada, the United States, Mexico, China, Taiwan, Japan, New Zealand, and Australia. The seven duos performed sonatas by Franck, Prokofiev, Enescu, Lekeu, Ravel and Schubert.

The next edition of Sonata Seminar will take place in 2026.
